Playing music started for me at the age of 15, first in blues/rockbands and later in jazzrock/fusion orientated groups. Listening to the symphonic bands of the 70-ties like YES and GENESIS(1), PINK FLOYD and RUSH started earlier.
Later on the experimental music of The Mahavishnu Orchestra, King Crimson and Frank Zappa led to a growing interest in harmony and improvisation.

In 1990 I studied guitar at the Conservatory in Groningen and graduated cum laude in 1996. During this study I started recording my own music, mostly instrumental compositions and began working as a guitar teacher.

In 1999 I toured in the U.K. with Sister Sledge (We are Family). After this tour I joined the reformed Sledge-band and toured with the Sisters around the world for several years.
This cooperation resulted in writing and recording songs. "SASS - Nothin' But a Party" is one we recorded for the Sister Sledge album "STYLE" in 2004 (US Empowerment Enterprices, LLC).

In 2008-2009 cd-recordings at Simon Gogerly's (U2, New Order) studio in the U.K. for the album "Chase the Sundown with me" (Band: Ilanois, 2009, Pias).

Musical highlight is the cooperation with Jon Anderson (YES, Jon&Vangelis) in 2008. This resulted in the song "Understanding Truth", which was released in 2011 on Jon Anderson's album "Survival and other Stories" (OPIO/GONZO-media).
